What We Achieved in Mental Health May 2025

This May, in honour of Mental Health Awareness Month, Kindness in Bucks focused on meaningful actions that bring people together, spark conversations, and remind us all that even small acts of kindness can have a big impact on our mental wellbeing.

Inspiring the Next Generation

We visited local schools to speak to the children about our Kindness Heroes project. Their thoughtful questions and enthusiasm for making a difference were truly inspiring. We were also grateful to collect the generous donations of newborn baby essentials from the families, children and staff supporting our work for local families in need.

Partnering with Local Businesses

We worked alongside several local businesses to help promote their services and collected even more donations to support families in need. Many businesses also helped us spread the word and gather essential baby items from their customers.

Baby Baskets Delivered

We’re proud to have now delivered 98 baby baskets to new mums in 2025! A huge thank you to our volunteers and donors who make this possible. We also dropped off Moses baskets at local businesses, which are now being lovingly filled by their communities.

Mental Health Boost with Haringtons Hair

In partnership with the brilliant team at Haringtons Hair, we ran a “Mental Health Boost” campaign—giving away 50 free haircuts to local residents who needed a pick-me-up this month. A heartfelt thank you to the stylists who made people feel seen and valued.

What’s Next? Join In June!

We’re not stopping here. Coming up in Join In June, we’ll be hosting:

• Free afternoon tea gatherings

• Baby basket making sessions

• And more events designed to bring people together and celebrate community connection.

If May was about awareness, June will be about action. We can’t wait to welcome more of you to get involved.
