April Highlights: A Month of Firsts, Friendship, and Community Kindness

April has been an inspiring month at Kindness in Bucks—a time of growth, connection, and meaningful action. From exciting new initiatives to the continuation of our much-loved projects, our community has truly come together in so many powerful ways. Here’s a look back at everything we achieved together this month:

Our First Ever Active April Campaign

Adult walks in Hazlemere

This month we proudly launched our first-ever Active April, a campaign designed to encourage movement, wellbeing, and community spirit. From gentle walks to getting outdoors with family, it was all about taking small steps toward a healthier, more connected lifestyle. The response was incredible—thank you to everyone who joined in and got moving with us!

In partnership with KitAid and Wycombe Wanderers Foundation, we collected and donated over 500 football kits to support children and young people across the globe. This campaign was a true team effort, and we’re so proud of the impact it will have. Thank you to everyone who donated kits and helped spread the word!

Warm Hub with the Elderly

Bringing comfort and companionship to our elderly neighbours is a cause close to our hearts. This month’s Warm Hub event was full of laughter, stories, and heartfelt connections. It was a reminder of the importance of togetherness and the simple joy of a shared cup of tea.

81 Baby Baskets Delivered (and Counting!)

81 baskets donated this year

Our baby basket project continues to grow. With the help of our incredible volunteers and local midwives, we’ve now delivered 81 baskets this year alone—each one packed with love and essentials for new mums. These baskets make a big difference during those early, tender days of parenthood.

Social Events – Building Friendships Every Week

Whether it’s our coffee mornings, adult walks, or other community gatherings, we continue to create spaces where people can connect, talk, and support one another. These events are at the heart of everything we do—and it’s been beautiful to see so many new faces this month.

Easter Donations for Local Carers

This Easter, we delivered thoughtful treats to local carers in recognition of the incredible work they do. It was a small gesture with a big message: we see you, we appreciate you, and we care.

Our First Community Litter Pick – A Huge Success!

Another exciting first! This month, we hosted our first community litter pick—and it was a huge success. Families, neighbours, and local volunteers came together to clean up our shared spaces and show pride in our local environment. The sense of teamwork and shared purpose was truly inspiring.

Looking Ahead…

As we step into May, we’re energised by everything we’ve achieved and excited for what’s to come. None of this would be possible without the incredible kindness, time, and support from our volunteers, partners, and residents. Mental Health May Campaign
